Did you know that 41 million children currently living without birth certificates, and hence deprived of official recognition by the government.
Almost 50 percent of Indonesians up to the age of 17 years have no birth certificate, according to the Indonesian Socioeconomic Survey 2012 (Susenas).
This fundamental right is being denied daily to children across the archipelago, simply because their parents don’t prioritize or fully understand the importance of this piece of paper that can give them the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty.
These children have no proof of existence and are stripped off their fundamental human rights and access to education, health and protection from the law!
