Most of you may not personally know her, but let us introduce you to one of the kindest souls out there, her name is Mustika “Misty” Hapsoro – a dear member of the Count Me In Family who has touched countless lives. From driving books for children’s education at Drive Books Not Cars, smacking Pies in The Face for the betterment of underprivileged children, spending her time educating street children at Sahabat Anak and single-handedly organizing #BakeADifference to raise funds to produce birth-certificates for the underprivileged children in Indonesia, are just a few of many ways she has truly made a difference- Misty never failed to put others above herself.
However, a soul that has affected numerous lives is now in dire need of our help. On March 1st, 2015, our best and dearest friend was rushed to the emergency room in Jakarta, she had a massive bleeding from her abdomen area which spread to the rest of her organ systems. She has since been diagnosed with a possibly fatal condition called Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) blood disorder and Septicaemia.
Due to the complicated nature of her illness, she was evacuated by an air ambulance to the multidisciplinary care in the Intensive Care Unit at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore to be treated by a team of specialists. It was a matter of life and death.
However, her condition still remains critical; hence the best medical care she requires is costly. Her nearest and dearest along with Count Me In has decided to help this vibrant and gentle soul by conducting an online fundraiser, an online auction and a social media campaign called #MistyPulih. The target is to raise $50,000 in one month, which would be used for her medical treatments and prolonged stay at the hospital. Also, to rally every positive energy there is towards her recovery.
She is not done coloring the world, she still has great things to offer with her kindness, that we assure you. So please help us, help her. You can donate, share this story, spread #MistyPulih or simply pray for her.
“With one kind gesture, you can change a life. One person at a time, you can change the world. One day at a time we can change everything” – Dr. Steve Maraboli
